Juror Information
Juries for Midland County are selected from a combined list of the registered voters in the county and those residents of the county who hold a drivers license or identification card issued by the Department of Public Safety. While this did increase the number of potential jurors, it also caused some problems. Because we are combining two different lists, there is always the possibility a name could be in our jury pool twice. You should check your drivers license and your voter registration card. If the name and address is not identical on the two cards, you will want to change one. This will avoid you receiving two jury summons in the same calendar year.
Qualifications and exemptions for jury service are listed below and on your summons. If you are not qualified or if you wish to claim an exemption, you may state this on your summons, sign where indicated, and return the card to the clerk at the address shown on your summons. You do not need to appear for the service or call the clerk; however, you must return the summons to this office.
