Cases involving juvenile crime are filed in the County Clerk's office. A juvenile is a person over the age of 10 and under the age of 17. If a juvenile is arrested they are taken to Culver Youth Home and an Assistant District Attorney is the prosecutor. An attorney will be present to represent the juvenile at the Detention Hearing and an attorney will be appointed to represent the juvenile when the case is filed.
All juvenile cases are filed in the Clerk's office from Class B misdemeanors to felonies. The following is a list of some of the types of juvenile crimes filed in the Clerk's office:
