PARENT-CHILD WORKSHOP.png
The Downtown Library is in the process of becoming a Family Place Library!

Family Place Libraries is a network of libraries nationwide who believe that literacy begins at birth and that libraries can help build healthy communities by nourishing healthy families. During the "Parent-Child Workshop", the library will provide a setting for the child and parent to play and interact with toys, art activities, and books while also introducing the parent to local parenting resources.

This is a 5 week program for children ages 1-3 and their parents/caregivers.
The Parent-Child Workshop:
- Features local professionals who serve as resources for parents
- Emphasizes the role of parents as the first teachers of their children
- Facilitates early intervention
- Teachers strategies for healthy child development and early literacy
- Gives parents/caretakers and their children a fun, safe, welcoming place to play in the community!

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Spots will fill up fast! For this workshop, space is limited to 15 families. Families must commit to attending all 5 weekly sessions. Siblings under age 5 are welcome to join!
