What is ReadSquared?

ReadSquared is MCPL'S online readers advisory and reading program tool. Kids and adults can earn digital badges for logging the books they read. If you would like a paper log, we have them available at either library location.

Where can I sign up for the program?

Online by visiting our ReadSquared site, or at the library beginning June 3rd.

What is the ReadSquared Summer Reading program page?

This summer, we are using ReadSquared's Summer Reading module. All logging is done online - you don't need a paper log! Kids can earn digital badges for reading. Adults can sign up a child or children can sign up themselves. Users need to set up a username or add an email address to save their badges.

When can we begin logging?
The Summer Reading Program is from June 3rd to August 5th, 2017. You can begin logging on June 3rd.

When I complete online badges through ReadSquared does this mean I have won a prize from the library?

Yes, pick up your prizes at either library location.

How do I log reading?

Log into your ReadSquared account and depending on the program you are enrolled in, you can log books read, minutes read, and secret codes for attending library events. You can only log 60 points per day for kids and teens.

How do I log canned food?

Bring your canned food items to the Youth Services desk at either location and a staff member will verify that you donated and log the items for you.

What is a Secret Code?

Keep your eyes peeled for Secret Code signs at library events – if you log the secret code, you’ll earn extra points!
