As of October 1st, 2006, the Midland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division consists of fourteen (14) deputies and eleven (13) civilian personnel.  The primary responsibilities of the Criminal Investigation Division are as follows:

  •   Complete Investigation of crimes.

  •   Recovery of property

  •   Identification and apprehension of offenders.

  •   Provide crime prevention education for the public.

  •   Provide drug awareness education in the schools.

  •   Provide supervisory support for the Crime Stopper program and any other assistance as needed.

  •   Maintain complete and accurate records on all persons arrested in Midland County.

  •   Provide 24 hour operation of State TLETS and National NLETS computer systems.

  •   Conduct Brady Bill checks on potential buyers of firearms.

  •   Register known sex offenders in Midland County.

  •   Provide local government record control schedule for state library.
