A library card is required for all library transactions. Possession of a library card indicates permission to checkout items to that account. If your card has been lost or stolen, please inform the library as soon as possible. Card holders in good standing may make use of our Interlibrary Loan system and the TexShare program.
Library Card Features
Ownership of a library card gives library users access to the Midland County Public Libraries collection, along with additional library services. Collection access includes:
Blu-Ray / DVDs
Music and audiobook downloads
Online research databases
Playaway Launchpads and View
PIN (Personal Identification Number)
A PIN is needed in order for library users to make full use of our online services. Your PIN may be in a combination of numbers and letters up to eight characters long. With your library card number and you PIN, you may place online holds on library materials and access online resources.
Library users may create their PIN at the time of obtaining a library card. If you have forgotten or have not yet set up your PIN, please contact library staff at 432-742-7400 during operating hours. Please have your library card ready when you call.
New Library Cards Limited Privileges
New library cards, both adult and minor, are limited to a two item checkout when they first open their account. Upon the return or renewal of those two items, card holders gain all library user privileges.
Playaway Launchpads, Playaway Views, and Bookpacks may only be checked out to an adult card.
