Early Childhood

Children from birth to five years undergo many developmental milestones. With the help of parents, family, and caregivers, a strong foundation for learning and a love of reading can be created. Reading, singing songs, drawing, and free play can make a big difference when these children start school.

Our libraries provide books, play, and resources to help capture a child's imagination and help them learn, laugh, sing, and discover. We also encourage parents to read to their children to prepare them for the transition to school. Our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten guides parents in reading 1,000 books to their children before the age of 5.
