1. Who can participate?

Everyone! – babies, toddlers, preschoolers, children, teens, adults. We allow parents to read to their children that cannot read by themselves yet and encourage parents to do so. Reading is good for everyone in the family. Learn more on our READsquared page or contact the Centennial Library.

2. Where can I sign up for the program?

Sign up online by visiting our Midland READsquared website or at the Centennial Library beginning May 1.

3. When I complete badges through READsquared does this mean I have won a prize from the library?

Yes, pick up your prizes at Centennial Library Youth Services or Adult Services.

4. Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader?

Of course! It’s all the same to us. Learn more on our READsquared page or contact the Centennial Library.

5. Can I count audiobooks?

6. Can I join the program after its official start date?

Of course! And if you can remember any reading that you’ve done since the program's official start date, you’re welcome to go back and count that. Learn more on our READsquared page or contact the Centennial Library.

7. Can I count reading that I did before the official start date?

We ask that you count only reading you’ve done within the official dates of the program. Learn more on our READsquared page or contact the Centennial Library.

8. I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?

• If you entered your email address when you registered, you can retrieve your password via email. From the Login page, click on "Did you forget your password? Get it by email."
• If you did not enter your email address when you registered, staff at your branch can help you change your password. Contact the youth services desk at 432-742-7445.

9. I forgot my username. How can I retrieve it?

Call your branch of the library at 432-742-7400 and ask to speak with the Children's or Young Adult staff at their desk or call 432-742-7445.

10. How do I log reading?

Log into your READsquared account and depending on the program you are enrolled in, you can log books read, minutes read, and secret codes for attending library events. You can only log 60 points per day for kids and teens. If you read more than 60 points, contact the Youth Services department 432-742-7445 and someone will assist you.

11. What is a secret code?

Keep your eyes peeled for Secret Code Signs at library events – if you log the secret codes, you’ll earn extra points. Learn more on our READsquared page or contact the Centennial Library.
