A message from Sheriff David Criner:

To the men and women of the Midland County Sheriff’s Office,

• It is important to establish a common operating picture for all in the Department.  The best way to establish a common operating picture is through the establishment of our Mission, Vision, Philosophy and Core Values.  The Midland County Sheriff’s Office culture is developed and grounded in a unique set of core values that are adhered to throughout the entire organization. These core values have been long established through those who have set the highest of expectations of the Department in its history.  By establishing and emphasizing our core values, we have set the bar extremely high for all of our employees in terms of how we operate and interact, within the law enforcement profession and with those we serve and are sworn to protect.

  Proactively protect the citizens of Midland County in an ever-changing threat environment while always remaining faithful to the U.S. and State Constitutions.

  The men and women of the Midland County Sheriff’s Office have been entrusted with a vitally important mission, immense responsibility and substantial discretionary authority; therefore, it is critical that every member of the department perform their duties professionally and ethically, and consistently adhere to the MCSO core values of Integrity, Service and Courtesy in all situations.

  Integrity – For the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, integrity is achieved when our words and actions consistently reflect our Mission, vision and philosophy. We are keenly aware that integrity is built over time. While it is difficult to measure, when achieved, integrity is apparent in all our dealings with all whom we come in contact.  We must be examples of honesty and integrity in our professional and personal lives, thereby earning the public trust.
  
  Service – The Midland County Sheriff’s Office understands that our present and future success is predicated on our service to the people. We perform our duties with the knowledge that protection of the lives and property of all citizens is our primary duty.  We promote an environment of mutual trust, confidence, respect and service above self.  We respect and protect the rights of citizens as determined by law.
